The job
The Internal Audit Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Internal Audit Services and will 1) assist in the development of overall audit strategies/tactics, 2) provide day-to-day supervision of the internal audit staff, and 3) perform complex audits of health plan, health care and other related processes. The position will assist the Vice President of Internal Audit Services with special projects as needed.
You will
- Plan and manage the execution of audits and other projects on the internal audit plan including planning, identification of process risks and controls, control testing, and communication of audit results.
- Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership for internal audit staff including guidance on audit procedures, control evaluation, and professional development.
- Work with management to develop management action plans that remediate issues identified during audits, coordinate the tracking of the action plans, and follow-up upon their completion to ensure the issues were remediated sustainably.
- Exhibit strong collaborative behaviors and ability to develop a high performing team.
- Assist in the risk assessment process and the development of a risk-based audit plan.
- Develop and manage metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal audit department.
- Coordinate the work of contracted/co-sourced audit staff.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with management and key stakeholders.
- Support investigations as applicable.
- Complete management requests and special projects as requested by the Vice President of Internal Audit.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your qualifications
- Required: Master’s degree in public health or registered nurse required.
- A comparable combination of education/experience and/or training will be considered equivalent to the education listed above.
- Professional certification (CPA, CIA, etc.) preferred but not required.
- Knowledge and/or familiarity with the principles of project and program management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new, replacement systems, and gain buy-in from appropriate audience.
- Able to lead and influence those without direct reporting relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ability to communicate with clarity, the vision, value, and tasks to formal and informal audiences.
- Able to develop relationships quickly and leverage working relationships to drive performance outcomes.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff, within and external to the organization to achieve goals.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills; Ability to multitask and to appropriately maintain confidentiality.
