The Manager, Data and Analytics will be responsible for oversight and active involvement in the company’s data management process. He or she will be a hands-on manager that will actively participate and manage team members, both direct and indirect reports in functions that include data warehousing design, architecture and management, data governance, data analysis and supporting business intelligence and visualization needs of the organization. This role will extend the existing data architecture in Microsoft Azure Data through additional architecture, designing and implementing new process to incorporate new data sources, expanding and creating new analysis platforms and the execution of strategic projects to realize our data management strategy. He or she collaborates with internal IT, external 3rd parties and other business stakeholders to identify and implement data strategy opportunities that drive business success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and provide strategic direction of IT data and enterprise architecture using Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake and Azure SQL Server and PowerBI
• Serve as a hands-on manager that will actively participate in technical activities and manage team members
• Determine the architectural and data technical needs of the organization, impart knowledge, and use of data and analytical tools to drive insight into our lines of business to drive revenue, reduce cost and improved client/partner experience
• Coordinate the company’s cross departmental analytics needs
• Create and implement data governance strategies and manage/optimize the underlying systems and processes for data governance including data quality, meta data management, data lineage and data protection
• Create and maintain an accurate and up to date data catalog using industry tools
• Partner with the business teams to ensure alignment of the IT data strategy and business data strategy
• Partner with business teams to evangelize and drive usage/compliance of MDM solutions
• Determine data profiling tools for our enterprise data
• Overseeing the ongoing enhancement and operations of a business intelligence that enables fact-based decision making and ad hoc analysis and insight generation
• Working closely with business/department leaders to ensure understanding of business processes and how they impact BI requirements
• Partner with Information Technologies and business teams to evangelize and drive usage/compliance of BI solutions
• Provide overall management for all operational data stores and enterprise data warehouses/data lakes in the enterprise

Leadership Duties

• Provide supervision to others through motivation, direction, review and feedback of assigned tasks
• Supervise work through the planning and scheduling of work, and the review and approval of tasks
• Supervise Team Members in their work assignments and performance development
• Supervise/manage/direct in the selection, training, development, and appraisal of team

Other Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, and implementation of controls
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
• Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
• Other duties as required and assigned
• Up to 10% travel as required

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent certifications and experience
• A minimum of five (5) years of computer systems analysis, consulting, and IT experience, preferably in large-scale data warehouse solutions
• A minimum of three (3) years of work experience with architecting, designing, implementing and managing data management systems including RDBMS’s and data warehouses
• Working knowledge of Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake and Azure SQL Server
• Hands on experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality Management and Data Architecture Standardization
• Experience with business intelligence tools, preferably with Microsoft Power BI
• Demonstrated track record of success in delivering advanced analytics capabilities
• Working knowledge of data architecture industry trends e.g. Big Data, Hadoop, etc.
• Metadata management, design and integration
• Experience developing conceptual and physical architectures for solutions incorporating heterogeneous applications, technologies and platforms
• Experience working with Healthcare billing and laboratory testing data is required
• Knowledge of Healthcare Quality Data Reporting measures a big plus
