Schedule
: To train on 1st shift/day shift until 2nd shift opens back up. Once 2nd shift opens up, this position will have the following schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00PM-1:30AM


Job Purpose
: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment used in the production and decoration of Augusta Sportswear Brands products. This includes regular inspection of equipment, structures or material, preventative maintenance, and machine repair as required. Technicians will supply the necessary mechanical and general maintenance expertise and support, ensuring smooth operation of the plant and facility. Maintenance technicians follow established work guidelines, procedures, or verbal instructions for most assignments, but must have the ability to independently troubleshoot and problem solve.


Duties and Responsibilities
:

  • Responsible for preventive maintenance, diagnosis and repair of all pieces of equipment within the plant, including production/decoration equipment, distribution equipment and building and facility grounds.
  • Responsible for maintaining the equipment's productivity to minimize downtime or malfunctions. Some tasks are required to be performed within rigid time frames to maximize productivity.
  • Maintains machine hardware, i.e. embroidery hoops, gauges, frames, etc.
  • Performs indoor construction, which may include framing, plumbing and electrical components.
  • Responds to maintenance and machine stoppage calls with a sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and repairing buildings and facilities installed systems, including packaging and handling machinery, and working on plumbing systems, roofs, drains, grounds equipment, and HVAC.
  • Completes indoor/outdoor building services (i.e., pressure washing, sweeping, changing light bulbs, painting, etc.) as needed.
  • Assists with the installation and modification of building equipment systems.
  • Performs welding, carpentry, and snow removal as needed.
  • Addresses emergency work orders after hours and on weekends, as necessary.
  • Additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all employees and Vendors.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks.
  • Must have strong basic math skills and the ability to count quickly and accurately.
  • Basic computer skills (familiar with Windows based software).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines with a sense of urgency and display an understanding of time management to meet goals.
  • Must be comfortable to stand/walk for an entire 8-10 hour shift in a production and warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary, occasionally on short notice.
  • Must have the ability to use appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
  • Must have no physical limitations to standing, bending, or lifting amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
