Maintenance Technician Job at UG2
Full time, Day Shift position
This position will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all core building and mission critical HVAC systems. The successful candidate should be innovative at heart and have a drive to be best in class. The candidate will comply with all applicable safety codes, regulations, government agencies and company directives related to building operation within a critical data center.
Basic Functions
· Light carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs.
· Experience repairing door hardware and door closers.
· Furniture and flooring repairs.
· Furniture and fixture moves.
· Lightbulb re-lamping.
· Assisting with other trades work, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Responding to and isolating urgent repair issues.
· Overseeing contract vendor work and escorting contractors in and around the site.
· Specific duties include but are not limited to; minor carpentry and drywall repair, painting, temporary water proofing / leak control, urgent response to maintenance issue to “make safe” conditions. Must be able to assist with other trade work, lifting and rigging, work from ladders / scaffolding at high heights, and clearing plumbing clogs. Helping with office and furniture moves as needed to facilitate painting and/or room repair work.
· Responsible for overseeing the activities of contractors working in and around the site either as representatives of the customer or tenants operating within the buildings.
· Perform routine repairs related to Carpentry, General Maintenance and assists all other trades as required.
· Respond to emergency situations and trace, troubleshoot and repair problems; will wear a cell phone or carry a shop radio for rapid response.
· Respond to service calls/tenant request for escorts, general carpentry & painting duties, picture hanging, safely move furniture and equipment as needed, and provide support or assistance as needed.
Safety:
· Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building’s staff and occupants work in a safe environment. Participate in our safety training program.
· Ensure that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building’s infrastructure. Responsible for alerting management of building discrepancies.
· Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation for the building including up-to-date building drawings and single lines.
Training
· Stay abreast of changes (safety and code) in the field through seminars and other educational means.
· Respond to emergency situations and traces, troubleshoots, and repairs problems; may carry a company cell phone or a shop radio for rapid response.
· Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
· HVAC assistant work – Filter changes, coil cleaning.
· Electrical assistant work – Checking / Resetting breakers, knowing when to escalate problems to licensed electricians.
· Some minor carpentry skills required, patch & paint walls, move furniture and set up rooms for function and flow.
· Plumbing Skills – Clearing clogs in drains and toilets, floor drain / P-Trap maintenance.
· Strong customer service skills with demonstrated success in providing five-star service delivery.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels of management.
· Comfortable working at heights.
· Ability to lift and move 50 pounds
