AMETEK, Inc., Specialty Metal Products Division (SMP) Wallingford CT, is a manufacturer of High Purity Metal Strip and Shaped Wire Products. In business since 1959, AMETEK SMP has numerous patents in technically advanced high purity materials.
With safety as the number one priority, AMETEK is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safe, reliable operations by performing preventative maintenance and repair on production equipment. Our facility contains rolling mills, annealing furnaces, slitting lines, wire drawing/annealing, and a variety of other industrial processing equipment.
The ideal candidate will support the existing maintenance team who collectively possess a strong trades skill set including plumbing, hydraulics, welding/fabrication, millwright, milling/turning, and electrical. Candidates with one or more of these skill sets would be ideal candidates to join our team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, & repair of equipment
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment
- Assist with continuous improvement and special equipment projects
Position Requirements:
- Demonstrate methodical approach to troubleshooting and good analytical skills
- Ability to work within a maintenance team, learn/train others to gain proficiency
- Follow company and OSHA safety policies & procedures
- The ability to read blueprints, basic schematics, piping diagrams and/or possess basic or advanced PLC knowledge is a PLUS
Higher starting wage exists depending on level of experience. Regular increases in pay to achieve maximum pay rate are achieved as proficiency is demonstrated and/or developed.
