JOB SUMMARY:

  • Individual will assist in the maintenance of the hospital facilities to ensure a safe environment in adherence to established Hospital, federal, state, local and JCAHO rules, regulations and policies. Reports to the Director of Facilities and Plant Operations-Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists with the overall facility maintenance of the Hospital facilities.
  • Identifies and assists with preventative maintenance activities.
  • Works with external contractors as requested.
  • Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assists with facility maintenance and safety records.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Participates and assists with staff development activities.
  • Serves on teams and committees as assigned.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job.
  • May be required to obtain a GED within six months of hire. Associates degree or college course work preferred. Prior experience and training in maintenance related area(s) preferred.
  • Language Skills:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables as needed.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
