Maintenance Supervisor - Semiconductor/Technology Job at II-VI

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of maintenance technicians in a 24X7 Manufacturer of Advanced Material in the Semiconductor Industry
  • Assure the team is properly staffed to maintain the machine equipment set
  • Work with shop operations and the maintenance leads to prioritize daily work effort.
  • Work in coordination with Day shift to provide continuity of effort and to assign PM duties to team members
  • Assure PM plans are successfully completed on time and performed correctly
  • Maintain tool performance metrics and databases as is needed
  • Drives machine improvements by working effectively across the organization (Process Engineers, Equipment Engineers, Process Techs, and Maintenance counterparts) to recommend, design, and implement repairs and or modifications to correct tool performance issues.
  • Must demonstrate an advanced knowledge of problem solving, fault finding, and analysis using a range of standard and advanced practices and techniques.
  • Must provide support to his/her team to insure they have a strong understanding of technical theory and practices and analysis techniques through mentoring, vendor training, or peer training.
  • Understands ISO 9000 and 14000 protocols. Writes and implements tool specifications to comply with these protocols.
  • Oversees maintenance of hazardous and inert gas handling systems to include cylinder changes.
  • Works with system engineering to understand machine data analytics to understand effectiveness of preventive maintenance efforts.
  • Must be an excellent communicator

Education & Experience

Two year technical degree minimum or 5 years minimum experience in a similar role

Desire three (3) + years of experience working in the semi-conductor or electronics manufacturing plant

  • Leadership capabilities to motivate a team of maintenance techs, achieve business objectives, and to meet customer requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work effectively with other members of II-VI Advanced Material Operations and Engineering Team
  • Ability to read, analyze technical procedures, documentation, instruction manuals, and or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, technical specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers and management.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing plant - controlled temperature and humidity

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment. May require machine assistance to lift/position some assemblies

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards.

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
