Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Maintenance or other appropriate administrative staff, is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of employees in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Responsible for maintaining electrical, plumbing, mechanical and related systems. Performs the work of employees and other duties as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervises, trains and assigns the work of janitorial employees
• Inspects work for completeness
• Determines material, equipment and supplies to be used. Transfers equipment and personnel from one project to another as necessary
• Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs and maintains concessions equipment and auditoriums
• Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems in all designated locations
• Coordinates or inspects, operates and maintains the heating, cooling and ventilation systems
• Does general repairs such as painting, patching walls, security hardware, hanging shelves and landscaping
• Coordinates renovations of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities
• Coordinates and inspects contract work on the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems
• Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools
• Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks
• Exhibit strong judgment and decision-making skills
• Computer literate
• Abilities to interface with all types of mechanical and construction contractors
• Knowledgeable in all phases of construction and building maintenance

Supervision Received:

Tasks so highly routine may simply require standardized instructions without continuous direct supervisory observation

Supervision Exercised:

Assigns and inspects the work of other maintenance and janitorial employees. Responsibilities may include involvement in interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel:

This position will require frequent traveling between locations and occasional overnight stays

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is exposed to a combination of office and theatre environments and occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
