Kennedy Valve Co. is a gray and ductile iron foundry and computerized machining and assembly operation. We supply fire hydrants and valves to the water works and fire suppression industries. We have been manufacturing these products in Elmira, New York, for over 125 years.

SUMMARY
Maintenance Repair [Mechanic]
  • Capable of working any shift, overtime and weekends as needed
  • Following Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies
  • Perform jobs assigned by Leader and perform general housekeeping when finished
  • Understand the importance of teamwork, trust, and communication to become successful



Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES
  • Maintain production and quality by ensuring the operation of equipment is being properly maintained
  • Capability of operating cranes, hoists, and various hand tools for extended periods of time
  • Perform troubleshooting duties on equipment to determine the repairs needed or adjustments
  • Install, rig, modify, fabricate with welding, cutting or other related tooling.
  • Utilize fork trucks and aerial equipment
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma/ GED preferred
  • Must be willing to work both 1st & 2nd shift and weekend overtime when needed.
  • Must be experienced with conveying systems, chains, and belts.
  • Must have experience in a manufacturing and or automotive maintenance department.
  • PLC knowledge and computer experience
  • Hydraulic& pneumatic knowledge with general electrical preferred
