Job Description: Operations Manager

  • Providing all Maintenance and Enhancement crews with the items and communications necessary to be successful with their projects. Listing the tools, equipment, and materials needed, as well as outlining a detailed description of the task with clear expectations of the time frame.
  • Monitoring job quality, including promptly and clearly communicating with the Maintenance and Enhancement teams regarding any unacceptable aspects of the project installation or maintenance service with a plan to resolve any issues.
  • Handling and ordering up to 95% of all materials needed for projects, including inventory items.

Supervising Superintendents, Crew Leaders, and Crew Members to ensure compliance with company policies/procedures. Training and developing the team to follow the Property Pros Standards of Process.

  • Attending meetings with maintenance sales leads provided by the company.
  • Generating maintenance leads, as needed, to hit or exceed sales goals for the division.
  • Conducting routine Site Audits to see opportunities for enhancements on current clients’ properties.
  • Providing clear and prompt communication of any changes to operations standards and/or procedures, as they arise.
  • Communicating any necessary information regarding employees to the Human Resources Manager and Executive Director.
  • Maintaining up-to-date fertilization and mowing routes. As new clients are acquired, strategically add those clients to the proper route.
  • Training and regularly checking for proper calibration for all spray machines.
  • Creating and hitting production goals, while maintaining a very high level of job quality.
  • Working closely with the Construction Operations Manager, Sales Team, and the clients. Routinely communicating with clients to answer questions and assuring job satisfaction. Documenting any complaints in Aspire and relaying all information to the Managing Partner.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork and tasks in Aspire. Scheduling jobs in Aspire and monitoring the team’s clock times to verify accurate clock in/out times.
  • Establishing a maintenance program for all equipment (ex: oil changes, replacement of fuel filters, cleaning of carburetors, sharpening blades, cleaning machines, etc.).
  • Maintaining current applicable licenses and permits required by state law. Taking classes to earn credit hours needed to maintain licenses is required.
  • Managing estimates, market pricing, and profitability of proposed jobs, as well as managing accurate item costs in Aspire.
  • Reviewing all estimates to confirm that accurate job hours and material quantities have been correctly projected.
  • Creating new job folders and reviewing completed folders that are turned in to assess the amount of materials and labor used versus what was estimated.
  • Attending Administration meetings and giving updates to the Management Team. Providing updates on total actual sales for the year in relation to projected sales goals.
  • Leading weekly meetings with the Managing Partner, including a review of sales, current bid loads, upcoming deadlines, and expectations.
  • Overseeing and aiding in snow removal.
  • Completing any other duties, as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED, required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership or management position, required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscape maintenance, preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to read and write
  • Self-motivated, with the ambition and willingness to take initiative
  • Highly organized and able to follow processes

Certifications and Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license, required
  • RT license with 3a/3b, preferredEqual Opportunity Employer
