The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for all repairs and maintenance of equipment and support structures. This position is deemed safety sensitive due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee s co-workers, and/or the public at large.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must have required tools.
• Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements including rigging.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Install special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Must be able to operate Opti-lign and Dial Indicators.
• Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Certificate of welding ability is preferred. Able to operate gas torch, arc gouger and oxylance.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift, push and pull in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and able to climb to heights in excess of 50 feet. Must be able to crawl in small or tight places. Job requires bending, stooping, and carrying. Exposed to temperature fluctuations, dust, and noise. Must be able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields.
