The ideal candidate will successfully demonstrate general mechanical ability. He/she must possess the ability to read blueprints, sketch piping and equipment layouts with dimensions, complete work order forms with bill of materials used, etc. Industrial mechanical experience may be considered if applicable. Must be willing to work towards having the necessary skills for advancement to Mechanic A in the future.

Requriements:

• Candidate will have the knowledge and ability to safely use mechanics hand tools, including but not limited to pipe wrenches, end wrenches, socket wrenches, spud wrenches, hack saws, screwdrivers, hammers, chisels, hex wrenches, pliers, metal snips, pipe threading machine, pedestal grinder, drill press, band saw, disc grinders, portable hand tools, MiG welder and arc welder.
• Will be able to demonstrate prep and TIG welding of stainless steel and carbon steel piping. He/she can demonstrate basic skills which will enable he/she to develop in the areas of pipe fitter and millwright.
• The successful candidate must be able to work from high places. He/she must always work in a safe manner and actively promote and improve Plant Safety.
• A strong sense of responsibility and ownership are required along with the ability to participate and progress in a High-Performance Work Environment.

Qualifications:

• The successful candidate must be available to work overtime and be on call (pager duty) per the current maintenance department requirements.
• Applicants must pass hands-on and written mechanical proficiency tests.
