Job Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic will conduct machine setup, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance service.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine services.
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.

Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of extrusion processing machines.

• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
• *Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
• Works well independently and with others.
• Good communication skills.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or Technical School education.
• 2+ years of related experience in industrial machinery to include experience in plastic extruders and processing equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
• Must be able to visually inspect machines.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Training Requirements:

• General Safety; Lock-out Tag-out; HAZMAT; Forklift Safety; Electrostatic Discharge Awareness; Foreign Object Damage Awareness; Quality System Awareness.
• Other training as determined by Management

Physical Demands:

• Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required.
• Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection and Safety shoes required.

Work Environment:

• Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.
• Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments
