The Maintenance Engineer originates and develops analysis information to rapidly repair equipment by studying operating and repair manuals. Specifically, acquires failure data and prepares maintenance plans for restoring equipment to optimum operating condition in a minimum amount of time. The Maintenance Engineer prepares general diagrams/charts/drawings for maintenance planners and makes recommendations for minimum parts specifications and ways to improve the repair cycle. In conjunction with Planners and Schedulers, provides manning level forecasts for Supervisors/Managers and estimates of outage durations. Determines cost advantages of alternatives and develops action plans that comply with internal/external customer demands for timely repairs of processes/equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s or Associates in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering degree, but willing to look at any engineering degree.
Experience
- Required: 5 to 10 years
- Preferred: 7+ years as a Maintenance Engineer
Experience in other maintenance and operations manufacturing roles: Technician, Supervisor, Planner or other role
Experience outside maintenance is a plus at this stage – operations, procurement, safety, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required Skills: Organization Skills, verbal and written communication skills
High MS Excel proficiency, general MS Office products, and CMMS – computerized maintenance management software
- Preferred: Presentation skills
Indirect leadership and team skills
Maintenance and Reliability certifications (CMRT, CMMT, CRL, Planning courses, etc.)
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
