Job Summary: this position is responsible for the care, upkeep and safe function of all facilities, equipment and maintenance processes to ensure their highest and most effective use in order to support all the ministry functions of the church.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintenance functions include but not limited to the following:

  • Maintenance of all flooring surfaces including tile and carpeting
  • Maintenance of all building vents
  • Light bulb/fixture repair/replacement as required
  • Repair all broken items that do not require a licensed contractor, such as, an electrician, plumber, or air conditioning company
  • Meet with all vendors and contractors prior to any work on church premises
  • Verify all contracted work completed to expected standards
  • Ensure all contractual agreements are approved by Church Administrator
  • Facilitate a minimum 3 proposal bid process for all service or equipment/supplies procurement
  • Ensure contractors supply New Hope Ministries with current Certificate of Insurance
  • Inspection of church campus grounds and buildings on a regular basis
  • Establish and maintain routine maintenance schedule for internal/external equipment and fixtures
  • Maintain the Church's vehicles including oil changes, regular maintenance, tire rotation, and any emergency needs. Also make sure each vehicle has the proper documentation.
  • Primary keyholder and emergency services respondent.
  • Prepare and submit Purchase Orders for all maintenance / facility expenses
  • Make capital improvement recommendations to Church Administrator
  • Work with Church Administrator to create, monitor and execute the annual budget pertaining to facilities

Housekeeping functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Management of the work of housekeeping personnel (staff or contracted)
  • Ensure all floors are cleaned (includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping etc)
  • Ensure all glass and mirrored surfaces are cleaned and maintained
  • Clean and sanitize all bathroom fixtures (including toilets, urinals, sinks, partitions, counter tops, and waste receptacles)
  • Dusting areas such as offices, classrooms, and bathrooms
  • Maintain communication with all department heads to ensure storage and landing areas are well organized and free of clutter

Set Up Duties:

  • All rooms needing to be setup for activities are assigned to the Maintenance department by the Church Administrator
  • Rooms need to be vacuumed prior to being setup
  • Tables and chairs are to be set according to required designs
  • Sanctuary is to be vacuumed and chairs are to be hooked and lined up twice weekly
  • Preparation and maintenance of Baptistery before and after Baptism services

ADDITIONAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Issue and manage key/access controls for church campus buildings and vehicles
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all IT equipment owned by the church and good working relationship with our IT company SJC Technology
  • Duties as requested by Senior Pastor and Church Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance or construction fields including supervisory experience. Experience in managing a large or multiple location facilities.
  • Computer skill – working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Technologies
  • Minimum a high school diploma, college degree preferred. Have technical training or experience in at least one of the building/equipment disciplines (i.e. HVAC, electrical, construction, plumbing.)
  • Large and small power tools, hand tools, and safety equipment.
  • Current and valid Florida State Driver's License. Quality assurance certification preferred
