Madisonville CI Supervisor Job at Land O’ Frost
JOB ROLE:
- Identify areas of improvement for plant operational efficiencies -opportunities to improve efficiency, methods, equipment, reduce waste, improve time.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in the manufacturing process.
- Manage SPC Program – Process and Slicer Capability Studies / Giveaway Analysis
- Evaluate process capability to understand opportunities for future growth.
- 5S / Lean Manufacturing – champion process improvement and lean manufacturing activities.
- Lead lean Six Sigma culture at the plant level
- Lead Kaizen events and other improvement projects (DLMP initiative etc.)
- RedZone System Administrator – Update database for people, products, forums, and checks/audits
- RedZone Champion – Collect data & lead any RedZone related activities for the plant
- Monitor and report sustainability progress on continuous improvement initiatives such as the net weight program, OEE, and other continuous improvement projects.
- Work cross-functionally with maintenance, operations, purchasing, R&D, etc. to identify and implement solutions.
- Work as a coach and resource to plant staff on all continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supports Training Program – Work with job coaches on establishing training procedures for new processes and equipment.
- Mentor, direct and coach direct report (CI Technician)
- Indirectly reports to and takes direction from to plant manager

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIRED:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak and present ideas in front of large groups
- Working knowledge of business and meat processing principles
- Certification, training or demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing and statistical analysis
- Computer literate in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab
- Proactively demonstrates a passion for deepening knowledge of Lean/CI principles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in food manufacturing (Meat industry strongly preferred)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Food/Meat Science, Business, or Industrial Engineering or related field preferred
Certifications/Knowledge:
Lean Certification or Six Sigma certification preferred.
Travel:
Local and/or overnight travel is required up to 30% of the time.
