1st Shift Research and Development Machinist needed for a local company. The employee will set up and operate machine tools such as CNC Turning/Machining centers, lathes, mills, boring machines and Grinders by performing the following duties. Must also know Mastercam. Clean background and drug screen a must. Please submit resume with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Back up Supervisors when required

Implement daily practices, which will contribute to departmental housekeeping.

Perform proficiently in a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office and department specific software.

Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Serve as an active member of the team of employees by routinely performing tasks such as: assisting in the training of employees; participating in problem solving activities; reporting workplace safety hazards; suggesting quality improvement methods, etc.

Capable of instructing training classes

Perform Complex setups

Build basic fixtures for production

Set up work area for efficient material flow

Confers with engineers, production personal, programmers, quality control or others to resolve machining problems and optimize programs and tooling.

Complete gage room documentation for first piece approval

Possess a complete knowledge of machine tool and control functions

Troubleshoot problems in manufacturing

Train employees to operate CNC equipment and Set up basics

Complete or update setup instructions and/or work instructions, tooling sheets, etc

Qualifications and Skills

CNC Setup A minimums plus completion of the job training and successful completion of Research & Development testing with a passing score OR equivalent combination of education/experience.

Math Background – CNC Setup A minimums plus fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, also ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Must have good communication and people skills

Must demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Benefits/Compensation

Pay rate is $22-$25 per hour. Based on Experience
