Machine Operator – Entry Level

Summary

The Machine Shop Operator will be responsible for the setup and manufacturing processes of various machined parts. The operator will work to properly ensure that all products are made to specification and tight tolerances. Must be able to work independently and follow manufacturing schedules.

Primary responsibilities

· Setup and operate CNC lathe.

· Setup and operate multiple pieces of equipment at the same time while maintaining accurate inspections of product.

· Able to read blueprints and drawings to determine tolerances and dimensions of machined parts.

· Track incoming raw stock and notify supervisor when material needs to be ordered.

· Follow manufacturing schedule to ensure departments have adequate inventories.

Requires Skills/Abilities

· Strong understanding of metal fabrication machinery and processes.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency.

· Work independently as well as in a team environment.

· Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.

· Ability to read order sheets and set a schedule to run parts needed.

· Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to assimilate quickly.

Experience

· Two years of manual machining experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

· Able to lift and carry metal and plastic stock weighing up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
