Job Summary
Machine Operators are responsible for setting up and operating heat film wrapping and sealing machinery equipment. Operators will interact with shipping team members, quality assurance technicians, and maintenance technicians to maximize output and efficiency while maintaining a professionally clean environment. Machine Operators use film wrapping machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Please list the primary duties of the position and the estimated % of time to be spent on these duties using increments of 10% or greater.)
- Perform machine setups, changeovers, and cleaning of equipment when necessary.
- Control Text wrap equipment and machinery to shrink wrap product at a high speed that still meets quality standards.
- Meeting production deadlines.
- Train members of the department to perform job related tasks as needed.
- Basic troubleshooting for equipment issues or request maintenance for more complex issues.
- Operates equipment and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure equipment is operating correctly and meeting quality specification.
- Set up machines to start production cycle, control and manually adjust machine settings (e.g. speed, size) for maximum production and check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
- Adhere to safety standards at all times while enforcing safe work habits with all team members & maintains housekeeping of work areas.
- Load and unload shrink wrap materials into processing machinery to maintain a smooth flow of production.
- Periodically check manufactured product for defects and ensure the level of quality.
- Ensures that all production reporting & data collection is completed in a timely manner.
- Oversee and lead your shipping line staff to meet production rates
Required Qualifications
Education, Licensing, Certification, and Experience
- High school or equivalent
- Previous machine operator experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
- Must have working knowledge and/or be familiar with manually adjusting machinery.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Able to multi-task and work independently.
- Results-oriented and driven work style.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team atmosphere.
- Must have great attention to detail.
