Below you will find an overview of the day-to-day responsibilities of our LPN position:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides assistance to the Nurse Manager with the management of the resident's health plan, supervising the day-to-day nursing activities and Caregivers during the shift in accordance with State & Federal regulations and facility policies and procedures. Promotes effective communication, continuous improvement, accountability, team building, conflict resolution and delegation. Relationships with residents, family, residence and the community as a whole are emphasized.

Provides quality and safe delivery of resident care by implementing current standards of nursing practice. Demonstrates competency in necessary clinical skills.

Reviews and implements care plan to meet the resident's physical, mental, and psychosocial needs. Delivers and monitors residents care, based on AHCA 1823. Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the attending physician. Communicate with all disciplines to ensure that care is delivered according to the resident care plan.

Gives and receives adequate shift report on residents at start and end of shift. Ensures caregivers also givereceive report on resident.

Maintain proper documentation and compliance all presented medication per state regs. Assists with self- administration of medications, administers medication and treatments ordered by the health care providers, and supervises staff doing same. Maintains proper surveillance of medications and records for controlled drugs.

Assists residents with setting up third party services as requested by Resident or family.

Assesses residents regularly for evidence of changes in condition using assessment skills based on accepted nursing standards, reporting any changes to Nurse Manager. Evaluate resident for skin integrity and functional status, reporting any changes to the Nurse Manger.

Assess need for preventive and restorative programs to ensure optimum achievable quality of life for each resident.

Supervise caregivers to ensure that the nursing care plan is implemented in a timely and thorough manner. Provide direction and support as needed.

Respond to emergency calls in community providing EMT's with proper resident documentation.

Receive physician's orders, process them and update care plan accordingly.

Maintain proper documentation of treatments, medications, assessments, care plans and summaries of resident progress in timely manner.

Communicate with family and responsible parties regarding inquiries about residents, in compliance with community policy and procedures on confidentiality.
