Seeking Full Time, Part Time, and PRN Staff Nurses to provide quality care to our residents at The Claiborne at Gulfport Highlands in Gulfport, MS. If you are a kind, compassionate leader with a heart for seniors, come join our team!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides direct resident care; assist CNAs as required.

• Documents residents’ response and the effectiveness of nursing intervention, including the administration of PRN medication.

• Assists residents in their Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks as needed and directed. This includes bathing, grooming, personal and dental hygiene, transportation to meals and activities, bowel and bladder functions (e.g., take to bathroom, portable commode, change incontinency products, etc.), shaving, dressing, and hair care.

• Transcribes physician’s order to residents’ charts.

• Responds to resident’s needs promptly while maintaining each resident’s self- respect, personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality.

• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records electronically.

• Uses Universal Precautions and follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.

• Serves and protects the community by adhering to professional standards, community policies and procedures, state and local requirements.

• Updates job knowledge by participating in education opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations and maintaining certification/licensure.

• Maintains a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards.

• Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

• Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to work under pressure and relate well to residents

• Must have a current license as a nurse, LPN, in the state of employment

• One year of experience in Assisted Living or Memory Care (preferred)

• CPR certification a plus

• Excellent bedside manner

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience working with an electronic health record system

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Continuous walking and standing

• Must be able to perform work both inside and outside, which requires stooping, bending and lifting of approximately 75 pounds
