Van Maanen Technology currently has positions open for technician helpers/apprentices. We are looking for hard working, motivated individuals who are wanting to take their career in the construction industry to the next level. Van Maanen Technology operates largely throughout Iowa, with job sites ranging from large commercial, large residential, underground, light industrial, and service work. - Must be able to pass a drug screen/physical/ extensive work fit test as well as a background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license, means of transportation, and willing to travel when needed
- Our areas of work include Des Moines, Iowa City, Dubuque, Cedar Falls, Waterloo, and many other areas
- Strong work ethic/ attitude
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work alone as well as in a team setting
- Ability to work long hours
- Must show up on time
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and supervisors
- Motivated employees who take pride in work
Here are some common daily tasks that you will have:
- Pulling wire
- Wiring devices
- Reading blueprints
- Assist with the installation of door control devices (electric strikes, magnetic locks, & PIR devices)
- Assist with the installation of door control, power supplies, & cabinets
