Your Role

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the full supply chain of ordering, delivery, assembly, customs brokers, freight forwarding, re-ordering / inventory control, process management and process improvement, warehouse personnel and systems management.

What you will be accountable for:

  • Enforces the organization and maintenance of warehouse appearance and functionality;
  • Selects carriers and negotiates contracts and rates;
  • Plans and monitors inbound and outbound deliveries;
  • Supervises logistics, warehouse and customer services;
  • Coordinates with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations;
  • Evaluates and monitors logistics budgets and expenditures;
  • Updates and evaluates employee metrics to assess performance;
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment;
  • Coordinates warehouse operations, including stocking and issuing materials, equipment, supplies, or other inventory;
  • Coordinates the receipt of inventory shipments and oversees the loading and unloading of stock;
  • Coordinates inventories on stock, prepares and reviews inventory control records and reports, and monitors inventory databases;
  • Develops inventory control program guidelines and policies;
  • Establishes and enforces warehouse standards and procedures;
  • Resolves inventory-reporting discrepancies;
  • Oversees the assignment of inventory numbers to items, and monitors inventory and stock control records following loss prevention and agency guidelines;
  • Reviews estimates and requests for stock replenishment and approves purchase orders;
  • Assists in recruiting and selecting employees;
  • Oversees new employee orientation and training;
  • Sets warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management;
  • Monitors and evaluates employee performance and leads training initiatives to improve employees;
  • Keeps up to date on the latest federal and state safety regulations;
  • Communicates with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude;
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting priorities;
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policy ;
  • Must be able to comply with safety standards and best practices;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Environment: office, non climate-controlled warehouse;
  • Ambulatory skills: stand and walk for long periods of time;
  • Hand-eye coordination and arm/finger/hand dexterity;
  • Ability to transfer weights up to 80 lbs.;
  • Travel: up to 10% of the time

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing logistics and supply chain activities including warehouse operations with a strong knowledge of e-commerce distribution strategies and tactics.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role;
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business, supply chain, logistics or a related field. Additional years of logistics management experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-per-year basis.
  • Experience with logistics and inventory management software;

Preferred:

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management System (WMS);
  • Tactical gear market experience or at a minimum, a strong interest;
  • Prior CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) specialist experience;
  • Experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
  • Prior military experience. Veterans/current military: provide DD-214 or statement of service.
