We are looking for a Logistics Dispatcher to join the team in Channahon, IL! The Logistics Dispatcher is responsible for providing dispatch communications and other support services to Drivers and Agents to match freight transportation demands with Driver and equipment availability. The position’s primary focus is the coordination, scheduling, and dispatching of customers’ freight.

Essential Job Duties

• Coordinate communications between Customers, Agents, and Brokers for rates and contracts
• Promptly secure top service providers to pick up and deliver a high volume of customer goods, while maintaining services as defined by customers
• Develop new and grow existing carrier relationships if repeat carriers are unavailable: cold calling prospective trucking companies
• Ensure shipment details are accurately recorded in our TMS
• Negotiate carrier prices/rates
• Clarify load requirements with carriers and confirm they have proper information to pick-up and deliver customer goods efficiently
• Proactively follow up with the dispatcher and driver time to time to ensure load is picked up and delivered on time
• Ensure all parties are informed of route changes, delays, freight concerns or other issues as necessary
• Schedule pickup and delivery appointment times; use discretion and insight when considering all factors affecting timeframe, including weather, traffic, miles, service rules, etc.
• Daily review of load board

Required Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfortable with a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of urgency
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Ability to quickly pivot from one task to another and reprioritize throughout the day
• Excellent customer service, communication, and negotiation skills
• Collaborative team player and relationship builder
• Eager to learn and open to different methods of execution
• Enjoys problem solving and puzzles
• Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous freight dispatch experience
• Previous transportation/logistics experience

Schedule - In Person, On Site

• Monday - Friday
• Initial training hours would be 8:00am to 4:30pm
• Once training concludes, hours would be either 7:00am to 3:30pm or 7:30am to 4:00pm
