Loan Officer: Agricultural Job at First Central National Bank
The First Central National Bank is seeking an Agricultural Loan Officer in the St. Paris location. The Loan Officer will be responsible for a wide variety of duties related to lending and customer accounts, including attracting and maintaining a progressive customer base. The ideal candidate would have knowledge in the agricultural industry, or similar experience in agricultural credit, or closely related field. The individual must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analyzing, negotiating, influencing and strategic selling skills. The position offers a competitive salary, bonus potential and additional benefits.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge of agricultural products/commodities a must;
Establish a relationship with equipment/farm products businesses;
Be available to perform on farm visits to customers and potential customers;
Be able to analyze all types of credit requests, financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, cash flows; and counsel debtors on financial condition and workouts if necessary;
Evaluate credit worthiness by processing loan applications and preparing documentation within the specified limits and timelines required;
Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting credit;
Adhere to the policies approved by the Board of Directors and maintained in the bank's policy manual;
Follow the guidance of regulatory agencies to remain in compliance with all federal guidelines;
Determine all applicable qualifications in setting up repayment plans;
Communicate with clients either to request or provide information;
Justify decisions, approvals or rejections, and document all information in determining decisions and being able to explain;
Complete loan contracts and explain all details of the loan agreement;
Maintain and update customer records;
Assess customer needs, explore all options and introduce different types of loans;
Go the "extra mile" to build trust, customer loyalty and satisfaction throughout the underwriting process;
Maintain customer confidence by keeping all personal and loan information confidential;
Be knowledgeable about all the services offered by the bank and be willing to learn more about those services to make yourself more valuable;
Show willingness and take the initiative to learn more and do more than just loan duties;
Always provide friendly customer service and be willing to assist the customer in any way possible;
