Description

The LNG Operations Specialist will lead technical services efforts to provide technical and operation services to licensed facilities utilizing the proprietary ConocoPhillips Optimized Cascade® process, support EPC contractors throughout all project phases and studies for future and current licensees, provide operations oversight of technical deliverables, and support LNG Technology & Licensing to develop a long-term plan for the LNG Licensing Operations Team.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Manage the multi-year commissioning and start-up plans for Licensees
• Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to LNG Operators supporting Construction, Commissioning and Start-Up of Optimized Cascade® Facilities
• Always maintain a strong focus on Process Safety and lead by example to influence both EPC’s and Licensees to do the same
• Engage with Licensees on a Technical Level to understand technical service requests
• Lead Operational Standards Development
• Participate in HAZOPS, P&ID reviews, 3D model reviews, and other design reviews for Licensed & future projects
• Preparation and presentation of Optimized Cascade® training to Licensees prior to the initial start-up of new trains
• Provide guidance to LNG Team Leads as needed to support their role as part of the EPC Contractor Commissioning and Start-Up Team
• Ensure that cold boxes, vessels, heat exchangers, and piping are clean and for correctly fabricated and installed prior to commissioning. This includes inspections at the LNG facilities as well as at fabrication sites.
• Ensure that P&ID walk downs of each train are completed prior to start-up (typically a couple of months prior to introduction of gas).
• Assist Licensees in troubleshooting operational difficulties with equipment, piping, and control systems as requested.
• Ensure that lessons learned from ongoing projects are incorporated into the overall lessons learned database that is maintained to help ensure a safe and efficient start-up of future LNG Trains.

Basic/Required:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
• 10+ years of experience in operations and/or operations support
• 3+ years of experience working in operations and/or operations support of an Optimized Cascade® Process Facility
• Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel up to 50% of the time on a yearly basis, both domestic and international

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a business-related or technical field or foreign equivalent
• Previous supervisory experience leading a multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent social skills, both verbal and written
