The HDD Company is currently seeking an HDD Line Locator (capable of moving into a steering hand). As a HDD Line Locator / Steering Hand, you will participate in surveying land for the construction of directional crossings construction projects across the United States. This position is 100% field based and you must be able and willing to travel to each project. This position is responsible for quality and strict adherence to all safety standards in order to achieve the most efficient operation as possible. It is essential to possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Critical for success are excellent attention to detail and sound problem-solving skills. This position will be field based and could be anywhere within the continental United States.

- Ideally have some level of post secondary education that deals with math and/or measurements
- Are meticulous in all the projects you tackle.

- 3-5 years of surveying experience within the construction industry or related experience
- Ideally you have experience utilizing walk-over utility locating equipment and/or survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, etc.)
- Ideally you have experience with steering programs and systems (Paratrack, Tensteer, etc.)
- Basic understanding of directional drilling surveying techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- A valid driver's license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record
- Travel required. Position may require extended travel, meaning the travel may account for up to 100% of the time and/or limit the ability to return home during off time while acting within the scope of a project.
This role is 100% field based and you must be able and willing to travel for long periods of time and be willing to work to the needs of each project on a 6 days on / 1 day off schedule. In between projects there will be some downtime and opportunity to work from our shop just outside Phoenix as well.
