The Rooftop-

The Rooftop has been awarded Best Rooftop Bar in Charleston 7 years in a row by the Charleston City Paper. Enjoy a specialty cocktail in the heart of downtown and take in the best views of Charleston and the harbor, including Waterfront Park, The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, and Fort Sumter. Feel the summer breeze and smell the salt air during sunset cocktails and dinner nightly. The Rooftop is open 7 days a week from 11:30 a.m. to midnight.

Revival-

The concept for Revival is modern, yet casual dining with a focus on recipes and/or ingredients from South Carolina’s past. We have worked with local farmers to “revive” certain ingredients and utilize them in our dishes. A sample of these ingredients include the previously extinct Nostrale rice, Jimmy Red grits, or the Bradford Watermelon.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiar with industry’s best practices

THE VENUDE:

The Vendue is a combination of two unique boutique hotels – 19 Vendue and 26 Vendue –located across the street from one another. 19 Vendue is housed within five historic warehouses dating back to 1780 that have been combined to form one hotel. 26 Vendue is a combination of two historic warehouses dating back to the 1800s. Due to the historic nature of the buildings, no two rooms are alike and each is decorated with different period reproduction furnishings or true antiques.
