Scope and General Purpose:

The Line Cook is responsible for ensuring the consistent and steady completion of meals that meet or exceed expectations. The Line Cook uses strong organization and communication skills to ensure every guests’ experience is world class. The Line Cook will play a key role in contributing to our guest satisfaction, and in achieving The Buccaneer’s Mission.

Essential functions:

  • Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of products received and communicate concerns with Lead Chef.
  • Prepare components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, starches, and preparing sauces.
  • Assists with chopping, marinating and precooking foods.
  • Answer, report and follow Lead Chef’s instruction.
  • Assist other cooks on the line.
  • Assemble dishes and provide garnishment.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards; participate in the maintenance of sanitary conditions and organization in the kitchen.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guest; assist guests, and answer questions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent qualification is not required but preferred.

· 1-2 years’ experience is required.

· Knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Ability for multi-tasking.

· Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.
