Licensed Veterinary Technician
Roles & Responsibility

• Working with a team of LVT's & Veterinary Assistants, running a shift and being responsible for everything that goes on during that shift.
• Performing treatments such as performing venipuncture, administering medications, obtaining patient vital signs, placing intravenous catheters, and monitoring anesthesia
• Must have the ability to place and maintain central lines, long peripheral lines and urinary catheters, and perform medical math
• Recognized by the state of Nevada as a Licensed Veterinary Technician or be able to obtain one before employment starts
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
• Experience working with other LVT’s & Assistants in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understand basic computer software, strong Web navigational experience, and the ability to pick up new technology quickly
• Obtain relevant information from clients and maintain accurate medical charts.
• Handle stress and pressure with poise and tact.
• Be willing to stay late when needed, to assist with emergency or critical-care patients.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding clients and patients for whom the practice provides

veterinary services.

• Ability to be confident around pets.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment.
• Assist veterinarians in surgery.
• Must be able to handle a large volume of patients and clients, ability to multi-task with a good attitude.
• Placing IV catheters
• Drawing Blood
• Intubation
• Dental prophylaxis
• Positioning for radiographs

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing work requiring concentration and

manual dexterity.

• Handle, lift and restrain animals of all sizes.

Experience / Education:

• Associate degree from a veterinary technology program, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.st be able to efficiently manage multiple activities and tasks at the same time
