The Licensed Practical Nurse will serve as an essential team player of the nursing department at Glenwood Behavioral Health through facilitation of nursing care and services aligned with the Nurse Practice Act under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Glenwood Behavioral Health, a brand-new Acadia Healthcare facility, is an acute inpatient setting for adult men and women who have been experiencing a wide range of mental or behavioral health challenges. Glenwood Behavioral Health is an 80-bed acute treatment center located centrally in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Licensed Practical Nurse will partner with RN's and MHT's in daily actions to ensure the best patient care.

Functions include but not limited to:

  • Monitor patient health and administer basic care utilizing the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice in carrying out care plan objectives and goals.
  • Collaborate with others to ensure that patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints.
  • Provide for the basic comfort of patient, implement nursing interventions identified in the plan of care that is individualized to their needs.

  • Chart medication administration in nurse's notes accurately and in a timely manner. Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers and others in an effective manner.

  • Document nursing care provided, maintain appropriate records related to patients' progress and activities accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for the safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by the DEA, FDA and ADP. Responsible for urine collection, processing, documenting and reading test results as ordered by program physicians.

Educational/Licensure/Skills Requirements:

  • Current and valid LPN license in the state of Ohio.
  • One (1) or more years' experience working with behavioral/mental health patient population.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
