Job Title: Library Assistant I
Departments: Youth Services or Circulation Department

Description: The Haverford Township Free Library is seeking a Library Assistant I to fill a position in either the Youth Services or Circulation Departments. The position is part-time with approximately 20-24 hours per week and requires flexibility in schedule including evenings and weekends.

Applicants will assist the Library Administration in creating a welcoming, pleasing, creative, vibrant and dynamic space for individuals of all ages in the library setting. Previous library experience is preferred, but not required. Retail experience is a plus.

Duties include assisting children, teen, and adults in the use of library services and facilities, picking up library materials from remote book drop locations, promoting library programs and events, public relations, and ability to work in all library departments including circulation dept. Wages/Salary: $15.00/hour

Qualifications: ∙ Two years of college preferred; will consider high school diploma or GED and experience ∙ One year work experience dealing with the public ∙ Stellar customer service skills ∙ Creativity and flexibility ∙ Computer literate ∙ Interest in reading ∙ Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends ∙ Must have a valid Driver’s License
