The Business Intelligence Data Specialist manages enterprise data usage requirements and focuses on data and systems integration initiatives. Primary responsibilities include understanding data analysis, reporting and integration needs across the enterprise, and guiding solution design and data architecture to meet these needs, in addition to managing data governance activities.

Project-Related and Continuous Improvements to data entities; Requirements
Definition, Business Needs Analysis, Gap Analysis, and Solution Evaluation
- Promotes architectural standards and consistency with the aim of
- Coordinates and leads discovery activities with business data owners
outcomes through interviews, documentation and facilitated working
sessions
- Prioritizes requests and identified needs for data entity improvements
- Engages delivery teams to communicate solution vision and priorities
- Identifies and quantifies data-related business opportunities
- Proactively monitors industry, functional and technology trends to
centralized data entities
- Provides cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment, and scope definition
- Manages changing requirements and associated documentation
- Participates in solution evaluations, including evaluation of third party
requirements
- Identifies and understands broader business impact and determines
- Creates and manages conceptual and logical data models based on
information and process components; including defining current ('as
is') and future ('to be') business process states
Operational Support: Activity Coordination and Execution
- Coordinates with data owners to ensure data accessibility and quality
- Coordinates the development of metadata
- Develops and manages metrics for data usage and data quality
- Provides consultative support and advice on technology projects led
- Defines, sets up and executes test cases to validate that data entities
- Envisions future use cases for data entities and develops roadmaps to
processes
- Engages with stakeholders to ensure requirements are reflecting the
- Monitors business decisions and manages requirements
- Evaluates project impact through consultation with the business,
assurance, validation, and training teams
- Supports enterprise digital strategy and organizational change
- Coaches employees to make use of data and related technology
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or mathematics preferred
- A minimum of four (4) or more years of experience querying databases AND
- Experience in other IT roles such as quality assurance/testing, enterprise architecture
- SQL coding skills sufficient to be able to review and test data in a cloud data
- Ability to guide solution design and architecture to meet business needs
- Analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Technical writing (issue discussion documents, requirements documents and
- Presentation skills and ability to communicate with SMEs to C-suite level stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with little guidance in a collaborative environment
- Requirements gathering skills for elicitation, modeling and analysis, validation,
- Project Delivery skills that include stakeholder alignment, cross team collaboration,
and metrics

Physical Requirements:
Primarily desk position; regularly required to sit, occasionally required to stand and
walk. Requires frequent and repetitive use of hands and fingers to operate a computer,
mouse, keyboard, and office related equipment and the ability to reach with hands and
arms. Position requires lifting no more than 10 pounds on a regular basis. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close visual acuity and the ability to adjust focus.
Requires the ability to communicate verbally and exchange information over the phone
and in person.
Work Environment:
Office, non-manual work; the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse
environmental conditions.
