LEGOLAND Irrigation Specialist
Position Summary: Works under the direction of the Landscape Supervisor and is responsible for the ongoing monitoring, adjusting and repairing of the entire irrigation system. Performs technical irrigation work such as, system analysis, trouble shooting, programming and monitoring. Oversees the repair or replacement of controller, communication, wiring, valves, piping and sprinkler heads.

Scope and Responsibilities:
1. Monitors and controls days and durations of systems using centralized computer system (Maxicom).
2. Documents system performance and problems. Modifies system database as necessary.
3. Organizes schedules, coordinates repairs and other maintenance functions with fellow MCs.
4. Identifies and repairs problems with controllers, communication, wiring, piping, valves and heads.
5. Monitors and documents water use with an emphasis on consumption efficiency.
6. Is recognized as the "site supervisor for recycled water use" by The Carlsbad Municipal Water District and The San Diego County Water Authority.
7. Designs and constructs new systems and modifications to existing systems.
10. Trains staff in proper irrigation practices, procedures and repair techniques.
11. Keep tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and good working order.
12. Keeps safety as #1 priority.
14. Keeps inventories of equipment and supplies at proper stocking levels and manage inventory
16. Keeps updated in most current landscape and irrigation techniques by attending seminars, conventions and supplemental courses.
17. Liaison with other departments.
18. Performs related maintenance work or special projects as required by Landscape Supervisor or Manager.
21. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of teamwork within the department and park wide.

Background and Experience:
Requires a minimum of two (2) years experience in the landscape and irrigation field. Computer skills and aptitude required. Must have ability to communicate in English both verbally and in written form. Requires the ability to maintain a friendly, polite, service oriented demeanor. Requires strong organizational skills with an emphasis on effective decision making. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to observe and remember details. Considerable knowledge of job requirements and the essential tools and equipment required to perform the above job description. Education:
A High School diploma or general education degree (or equivalent education and experience) is required. Some college or specialized training in horticulture or irrigation preferred but not required.

Other Requirements:
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays to support park operations.
Must have valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Must obtain : Recycle Water Site Supervisor Certification within 6 months

Compensation:
Compensation for the opportunity is $21.00
