WC Smith has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Leasing Consultant to join JETU and Fairway Park Apartments in Washington, DC. A successful Leasing Consultant will maintain a high level of customer service and have excellent communication skills. As Leasing Consultant, you will have significant interaction with residents and prospective residents on a regular basis.

The hours for this role are:
Monday to Friday - 8:00am - 5:00pm
Some Saturdays - 10am-2pm

• Prepare and process rental applications and lease packages for review and approval by the Property Manager
• Enter data pertaining to potential residents into property management software as instructed
• Collect and log monies from prospects and future residents
• Tour prospects through model apartments or market-ready units
• Respond to phone and email inquiries by providing community and rental information
• Maintain communication with approved applicants
• Shop competition through phone calls and visits on a regular basis
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports as instructed by management
• Inspect apartment homes to ensure marketability and move-in ready status
• Greet all prospects and residents that enter the rental office
• Assess the housing needs of prospective residents
• Conduct all leasing activity in strict accordance with Fair Housing Guidelines
• Overcome prospective resident objections by obtaining knowledge of the community and maintaining product knowledge
• Provide and produce marketing flyers to be distributed as instructed
• Maintain an advertising binder of all ads for the community and the competition

Career Experience:

• At least one year of experience in residential leasing with a proven track record for effective closing is preferred
• Outstanding customer service orientation
• 2+ years of sales experience
• Weekends are required
• Lease-up experience is a plus
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Excellent organizational skills
• A high degree of energy and motivation
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel) as well as Yardi
