With full-time childcare and preschool right here in Saint Paul, Minnesota, parents and guardians can expect the highest quality learning and care for their children ages 16 months to 5 years with year-round enrollment. The Wilder Child Development Center is a Head Start colocation site, NAEYC accredited and has the highest rating of 4-Stars by Parent Aware. This means that parents and guardians can expect incredible childcare, learning that prepares children for kindergarten and life, and support for the whole family!

At the Wilder Child Development Center (CDC) in Saint Paul, Minnesota, You will be part of our community of staff and teachers who continually recognize and strive to meet the diverse needs, abilities, interests and cultures of children and their families, where each person is valued and respected as a contributor in our classroom environment.

The Child Development Center is part of Wilder’s Economic Stability and Aging Services (ESAS) division that focuses on stability and wellness throughout the lifespan, from prenatal to older adults. ESAS takes a culturally-responsive, strengths-based approach to serving people and their families: prenatal and early childhood education, housing and wealth creation, healthy aging, and community-focused school and family supports. Job Qualifications

You have a passion for early childhood and helping children achieve their educational goals
You have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with a diversity of toddlers, young children and their families
You don’t compromise on cleanliness, health, safety, security and privacy
You’re friendly, value diverse people, experiences and skills, and approach others with respect, empathy and care
You can work with little supervision and don’t hesitate to ask for clarification if and when needed
You work efficiently, can manage your time and know when to prioritize
You have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or equivalent (Toddler CDA)
You’re fluent in English (and, so cool if you speak other language(s) too!)
You’re First Aid & CPR certified


Other Information

As an Early Childhood Lead Toddler Teacher, you’ll:
Actively work and participate with our team of teachers and staff to provide support and services to children and their families as a role model for children.
Guide diverse children using a strengths-based, culturally relevant approach that supports the whole family.
Support the development and implementation of plans for activities, events and projects that align with Wilder’s strategy and CDC’s goals.
Help maintain an incredible experience and environment that’s clean, welcoming and accessible for children and their families such as light housekeeping, laundry, occasional meal prep and cleanup.
Navigate and report any mishaps, diseases or injuries with patience and support from your Early Childhood Education team.
Continue to grow professionally by attending staff trainings, participating in relevant development opportunities, and completing requested or required trainings like CPR, First Aid, diversity, equity and inclusion, defensive driving, or special DHS training.
Hold yourself accountable to be aware of and follow Department of Human Services (DHS) Rule 3, National Association of Education for Young Children (NAEYC), confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines, safety recommendations, Head Start Performance Standards and Environmental Health Department regulations.
