Your opportunity
New Relic Synthetics is a programmable traffic simulator that can be run across thousands of public and private locations to proactively detect and resolve issues. We run hundreds of millions of jobs per day to help our customers monitor their systems. As a technical leader, you will work with product managers and the team to design and implement features in a complex ephemeral environment with high reliability and scalability needs.

What you'll do
  • Design, implement and monitor features of the Synthetics platform
  • Solve customer challenges in collaboration with partners
  • Mentor engineers on the team
  • Plan and drive execution of product features
  • Iterate quickly, mentor patiently and make data-driven decisions
  • Set the bar for quality code and scalable designs
  • Develop solutions for a high performance application
  • Explore new technologies and prototype approaches to new challenges
This role requires
  • 7+ years building & shipping reliable services
  • Expertise in a backend language such as: Java, Ruby, Golang, Python or C#
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and data at scale
  • Collaboration skills that encourage authenticity and creativity
Bonus points if you have
  • Strong Java development experience on high performance applications
  • Experience with containerization and/or Kubernetes
  • Running, monitoring and troubleshooting ephemeral jobs
  • Building and managing systems that can execute external code

Estimated Base Pay Range: $ 162,000 - $ 202,000
Consistent with New Relic's values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. The base pay range above represents a good faith estimate of the low and high end base pay range for the listed position. This role may be eligible for the corporate bonus plan (or, if a sales role, a commission plan as defined in the sales incentive plan document), participation in our stock equity plan, short- and long-term incentives, and other department-specific awards that may be applicable. In addition, New Relic provides a variety of benefits to employees. The range provided may also represent candidate ranges and may not reflect the full range or geographic differential for an individual tenured employee.
