Your Role:
The Lead Scientist - Bioprinting at MilliporeSigma in Milwaukee, WI will lead innovation and research and development in 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering by designing, generating, and testing biomaterial formulations to drive biological responses. The Scientist will be a significant contributor to the ideation, strategy, and development of novel 3D bioprinting technologies while working alongside Product Management, Strategy, Production, and Commercial teams to shape the future of biomedical research. Your Role:
The Lead Scientist - Bioprinting at MilliporeSigma in Milwaukee, WI will lead innovation and research and development in 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering by designing, generating, and testing biomaterial formulations to drive biological responses. The Scientist will be a significant contributor to the ideation, strategy, and development of novel 3D bioprinting technologies while working alongside Product Management, Strategy, Production, and Commercial teams to shape the future of biomedical research. Daily activities include the following:
- Provide strategic and technical leadership in the areas of bioink formulations, biomaterials, and 3Dbioprinting
- Foster innovation of the bioprinting portfolio through thought leader engagement and understanding of customer and business needs
- Seek opportunities to collaborate with academic and industry partners to develop novel technologies
- Co-develop the bioprinting innovation roadmap to reflect recent advances and trends in bioprinting and tissue engineering
- Mentor and coach bioprinting R&D team
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD Degree in Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or Chemistry/Biochemistry
- 1+ year of hands-on experience and technical leadership in bioink formulations for 3D bioprinting
- Demonstrated research experience in biofabrication, tissue engineering and3D cell biology with a record of patents and publications
- Strong technical understanding and relevant experience withbiomaterial optimization to promote biological response, dictate biological fate, promote differentiation or cellular function
- Experienced inbioink formulation optimization for 3D bioprinting and familiarity with 3D cell-culture highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of the bioprinting technology landscape and demonstrated ability to translate into innovative projects
- Self-motivated, highly organized, collaborative, and conscientious
