Lead Mobile Testing Technician

Summary:
This position will travel to utility locations and operate a Mobile Testing Lab with up to 3 other Mobile Technicians to lead and teach the crew to test and possibly repair Hot Sticks, Grounds, Mechanical Jumpers and other related equipment.

Our ideal candidate will enjoy working with their hands, be mechanically inclined, able to supervise people, communicate with our customers while on location and available to travel up to 80%.

What you’ll do:

• With a team, drive a ¾ ton truck & trailer to customer locations in multiple states.
• You will be responsible for the safety, cleanliness and mechanical safety of your vehicle.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair Hot Sticks, grounds, mechanical jumpers and other miscellaneous equipment on location.
• Identify repair parts required.

• Perform High Voltage Testing.
• Load, unload, and move materials within or near work site.
• Lift heavy objects by hand, keep work area clean, assist our technicians.
• Clean and visually inspect customer material to identify defects or damage.
• Keep vehicle and trailer clean, safe, and organized.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies while in our Test Lab.

What you need:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with a background in repairing tools and hydraulics.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
• The ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas.
• Knowledge of safety practices.
• Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand on your feet most of the day.
• Currently have or ability to obtain DOT Medical Card with the possibility of acquiring a Class A CDL Driver’s License in the future if needed.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
