The front office lead serves as a liaison between the coordinator, physician, staff, patients and management.

Registers patients by way of appropriate pathway, verifying patient information, explaining and obtaining necessary signatures, obtaining an ABN when needed.

Maintains office referrals.

Receives, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls. Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.

Obtains patient Referrals, Pre-authorizations and Pre-certifications.

Responsible for helping maintain daily deposit.

Processes office invoices for manager.

Notifies software vendors of issues and assists with correction.

Preserves files / prepares forms essential for office work flow.

Reviews office procedures to maintain compliance with physician practices.

Schedules meetings for providers and provides appropriate literature.

Distributes documentation on compliance.

Provides necessary material & information required for audits.

Maintains Monthly and Daily Reports .

Inventories Assessment Control.

Notifies proper officials of internal and external issues.

Notifies providers of incomplete notes, coding and other billing issues.

Liaison between Coordinator, Physician, Staff and Managers


Minimum Education

High school graduate or equivalent. Medical Terminology. ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding preferred.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

ICD-9 and CPT coding preferred. 40wpm typing. Able to multi-task. Excellent telephone skills. Legible handwriting.

Required Skills

Requires full range of motion including the handling of patients and/or equipment, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. May require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. May require frequent bending, squatting, or kneeling. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and/or irregular hours. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Minimum Work Experience
Physician office experience preferred. At least 6 months of computer experience.
