The Lead Clinical Dietitian assists the Director through provision of supervision/coordination of nutrition and weight management care for patients entering the St. Luke's Weight Management Program, oversight of daily clinical case load assignments, assistance with new nutrition and intern onboarding, competencies, mentoring and performance.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides oversight of daily clinical case load assignments, assists in monitoring and management of nutrition productivity and data.
- Oversees daily operation of comprehensive nutrition care for patients including screening, assessment, education and intervention.
- Involved in patient menu development as appropriate
- Assists in coordination and development of agenda for staff meetings
- Assists with clinical nutrition staff and intern onboarding, orientation, competency, mentoring, staff meetings and training, and performance management.
- Coordination of quality control activities and performance improvement conducted by clinical nutrition staff
- Collaboration and engagement and support of the weight management team.
- Supports patient satisfaction/patient experience initiatives
- Assurance to network standards of care, policies, procedures and systems
PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to five (5) hours per day, one (1) hour at a time. Standing for up to two (2) hours per day, at one (1) hour at a time. Walking for one (1) hour per day, ten (10) minutes at a time. Frequent use of fingers in operation of computer. Frequent writing, twisting and turning with whole hands. Rare lifting of objects weighing up to ten (10) pounds. Rarely stooping, bending or reaching above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision and frequent use of color computer monitor.
EDUCATION:
Active dietetic registration through Successful completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) or Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CPD) plus Dietetic Internship (DI) accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and for Pennsylvania required.
Licensed as appropriate per state requirements. Weight Management/Nutrition Related Certification.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 year experience as RD preferred. Registered as a dietitian, licensed as appropriate per state requirements required.
