Liberty Healthcare is now accepting applications for a full-time Mental Health Clinician position with our jail-based competency treatment program at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga - San Bernardino County, California.

The mission of the program is to minimize the need and waiting periods for state hospital forensic mental health beds by delivering timely court-mandated forensic assessments, psychiatric stabilization, and restoration of competency to individuals in jail.

This cutting-edge program is based on Liberty’s innovative model which received a Best Practice Award from the California Council on Mentally Ill Offenders.

As a Mental Health Clinician with Liberty Healthcare’s program, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing psychosocial evaluations on newly admitted patients – including a DSM 5 diagnostic impression

• Providing cognitive-behavioral treatment and psychoeducation to individuals and groups

• Serving as a case lead to assigned patients

• Contributing to individualized treatment plans within a multidisciplinary team

• Proactively contacting family and collateral contacts when appropriate for the purposes of evaluation and treatment

This position requires you to work in-person and onsite at the West Valley Detention Facility, four days each week, 10 hours each workday.

As a new employee in this role you can expect a starting salary between $82,000 and $90,000.

Liberty takes into consideration relevant work experience, professional licensure status and credentials, work schedule / shift, and worksite location when determining a new hire’s specific starting salary.

You are a good fit for this position if you possess these attributes:

• Professional licensure in California as a LCSW or LMFT

• Experience providing assessment, counseling and psychoeducational services to adults who have acute and chronic mental illness

Prior experience working in a forensic unit, inpatient psychiatric hospital or correctional facility is helpful, but not required.
