The Launch Strategy & Operations Associate helps us realize our mission to better the lives of animals by building a place that's better for all of us who love them. Acting as an operational partner across the organization, this role will be responsible for ensuring our news clinics are fully functionally and ready for our care teams. Specifically, this person will be responsible for ensuring that our new clinics are opened with the right equipment, accounts, licenses, and physical setup.

The individual in this role thrives in an energetic, fast-paced environment, is able to work with a diverse group of professionals across various levels, is extremely well organized, flexible, proactive, resourceful, efficient, and operates with the highest level of professionalism. This individual is also effective at coordinating large projects that stretch across many stakeholders and is able to operate at the lowest level of detail.

In this role, we are looking for someone who is passionate about pets and the people who love them, and is excited about rolling up their sleeves to bring our mission to life as we grow.

This role is preferably based in Los Angeles or the San Francisco Bay Area. This role will require travel, local and national, at least 50% of the time to our new clinics and develop an expertise in the operational foundations of Modern Animal. You'll have the flexibility to work from home when not traveling. Please note, this role will require you to lift boxes of up to 40 lbs during clinic setup.

What you'll be working on:

  • Project coordinate up to 6 new clinic opening projects at once tracking timelines and cross functional partner work
  • Execute New Clinic Launch (NCO) tasks including but not limited to creating accounts, applying for licenses and permits, and receiving inventory and equipment
  • Setup new clinics in 1 week, including managing inventory, stocking supplies, labeling, testing equipment, coordinating vendors
  • Coordinate open items/punch list with Facilities, Development, Brand, IT teams to ensure the clinic fully operational
  • Provide support to each clinic for 30 days post opening, completing any open items, educating the care teams on Modern Animal processes, and ensuring the Clinic Manager has all the resources they need to run their clinic
  • Support special projects that drive process improvements and establish automations in order to set Modern Animal up for scaling nationally
  • Maintain NCO Documentation, including Playbook, SOPs, training documentation, project tracker
  • Regular Reporting on project progress, timelines, and risks
