Skills and Experience for Success
- Prefer two or three years of experience with a landscaper, nursery, golf course grounds crew, or in a similar capacity with a school, resort, or hospital.
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak clearly, and follow verbal instructions.
- Physically capable of performing physical labor under extreme conditions.
- Ability to learn from on-the-job training and demonstrate correct use of supplies and equipment.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Work appropriately and safely with a variety of landscaping equipment to mow lawns, trim bushes/trees, spread mulch, weed, plant landscaping beds, fertilize, etc.
- Responsible for care and condition of all tools furnished.
- Responsible for care of all lawn and planted areas throughout the campus.
- Responsible for maintaining all paved surfaces.
- Responsible for installation of new landscaping projects.
- Maintains surface water collection systems.
- Performs set-ups for RWC events as needed.
