The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for supporting the branch team along with the Area Manager by ensuring proper training, coaching and development of team members of the sales and service process. Additionally, they connect with our customers to make sure we are fixing their pain points and providing them with the products and services that best fit their needs and wants. The Assistant Branch Manager will contribute to branch sales by meeting their personal production goals as well as coaching the branch team members to do the same. Team members are expected to adhere to all rules and regulations applicable to the position.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Promotes an environment that upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of Hoosier Heartland State Bank.
  • Responsible, alongside Area Manager, for the achievement of success of the branch through coaching and development, goal allocation and personal contribution.
  • Ensures team members are clear on their expectations and responsibilities through coaching and accountability.
  • Promote accuracy and efficiency at all points of customer contact by continuous review of processes and systems.
  • Take ownership of personal leadership and development opportunities.
  • Accurately process teller transactions and reconciling a cash drawer.
  • Provide account services to customers.
  • Follow the established guidelines and procedures while processing new and existing accounts, IRAs, CDs, HSAs, loan applications and all other basic consumer lending functions.
  • Maintain all service standards as directed and encourage and help teammates, as needed.
  • Consistently met the monthly and quarterly sales goals, as identified by your manager.
  • Determine customers needs through relationship banking and providing recommendations that are best suited for them.
  • Attending and participating in trainings as assigned.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Comply with bank operations and security procedures.
  • Take the initiative to turn reports in promptly.
  • Bachelors Degree in management or other related field is preferred. Management/leadership experience for those without a Bachelors degree will be required.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Skills needed to succeed in this position are teamwork, problem solving, time management, coaching, communication, critical thinking, and organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is preferred.


This is a full time position with hours primarily in the timeframes below. This position will oversee the team at our Roachdale and Ladoga branches. On Wednesday afternoons and Saturdays, this position will be working out of the Crawfordsville South branch or in training at the Success Center in Crawfordsville. Saturday's are normally rotated between staff, but typically each person works around 2 Saturdays per month.

  • Monday - Thursday: 7:45am - 5:15pm
  • Fridays: 7:45am - 6:15pm
  • Saturdays: 8:45am - 12:10pm
