MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

• Responsible for cutting grass using a walking-type, or riding mower (less than 2,000lbs), trimming hedges and edging around walkways, flowerbeds, and walls using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth utilizing shears and other hand tools.
• Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insectide.
• Picks up and removes damaged leaves, branches, or twigs; Rakes and bags leaves.
• Cleans grounds and removes litter.
• Picks grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
• Waters grass and shrubs during dry periods, using hose or activating sprinkler system.
• Pressure washes sidewalks.
• Removes snow from walks, driveways, roads or parking losts, using a shovel and snow blower; spreads salt on walkways and other areas.
• Repairs and paints fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings as necessary.
• May assist in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
• May clean comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping and polishting.
• Must adhere to all Fort Bragg, local, State, Federal, OSHA, and DA directives.
• Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

• May perform work in conditions of inclement weather, extreme heat and cold, high/low humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, and hieghts.

• Must be able to lift a maximum of 45 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk within work sites 6-8 hours a day in perfomace of duties.
• Must be able to push, pull, carry, stoop, bend, squat and reach.
• May be subject to walk on uneven surfaces.
• May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment,such as a face mask, safety shoes/boots, safety vest, eye and hand wear.
• Must be able to operate standard equipment used in grounds and facility maintenance activites.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State Drivers License

• No previous experience required

• Must posses the ability to work well independently under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to effectively collaborate with others.
• Must possess effective communications, organizationa, and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate via written and oral communication
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and other short correspondence.
