Job Title: LABORER

Reports to: CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
Location: SOUTH SIOUX CITY, NE
Summary
Perform various tasks involving physical labor for real estate construction projects. Possesses a general knowledge of the position and provides a willingness to put forth extra effort.
Essential Functions
- Operate hand and power tools such as but not limited to: air hammers, dirt tampers, drills, saw, water pumps, grinders as well as a variety of other equipment and instruments.
- Assist with the layout floor plan and cabinet work, using rule, framing square and calipers.
- Assist with the activities concerned with fabrication, assembly and erection of structure.
- Assist with the install of fixtures, windows, doors, trim, builds stairs, cabinets, countertops and lays hardwood floors and tile work.
- Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, assist with surveying and project layout.
- Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Regularly attend company safety training sessions.

Work Environment
This job performs physically demanding work. May work at great heights or outdoors in all weather conditions. The use Personal Protection Equipment is required.
Physical Demands
The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Experience
- One or more years of experience in a related area preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the common practices, tools, terminology and safety precautions of the carpentry trade.
- Thorough knowledge of the use and characteristics of common building materials.
- Ability to work from sketches, drawings, plans or specifications.
- Must be ability to stand for long periods of time, must be able to regularly at least 50 pounds of force.
- General understanding of construction practices.
- Communication skills both verbal and written and ability to take direction and carry out job duties as needed.
- Maintains a valid driver’s license and be insurable under company insurance provider/program
Education
High school diploma or Equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
