Job Summary The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing functions in the analytical laboratory departments while working under limited supervision. Primary function of the position is the preparation, analysis, and quantitation of test samples.

Within the scope of authority, the employee is responsible for performing all related quality control procedures and maintaining and documenting the maintenance of equipment utilized. Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to: • Timely and accurately preparation, analysis, and quantitation of test samples. • Preparing standard materials and calibrations when applicable. • Participating in Intra-lab and Inter-lab Quality Control programs.

  • Cleaning and maintaining glassware, test supplies and equipment as required. • Participating in the generation and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related documentation. • Adhering to the safety requirements and policies in the laboratory. • Disposing of related hazardous materials.
  • Assisting administrative personnel with laboratory related projects. • Participating in special projects as required. • Supporting laboratory personnel in other departments when required. • Customer Service oriented - exceeding client expectations.
Representation of WEIDMANN to employees, customers, vendors, and potential customers. • Continually improving skills and seeking opportunities for more training, eventually taking on additional roles of Associate Chemist. Education and Experience A high school diploma with some chemistry background highly desirable. Some work experience with customer service responsibilities and data entry requirements highly desirable.
