Responsibilities:
As the Laboratory Technician (Mirco) to prepare and analyze samples using approved, established SOPs with strict adherence to ESS Laboratory Assurance Manual. It is our mission to provide quality data and exceptional customer service, at a reasonable price. This position will work within the Mirco Lab Department.
We perform analyses for potable and non-potable water including, but not limited to, Total Coliform, Fecal Coliform, E. Coli, and Enterococcus by MPN, MF and P/A methods. The employee will perform other basic sample testing and standard lab testing preparations. The position is full time, M-F, 8am -5pm, and based out of the Middleboro, MA office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and analyze samples using approved, established SOPs with strict adherence to ESS laboratory’s Quality Assurance Manual.
- Performs peer review to ensure unimpeachable data
- Follow laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the receipt and handling of sample
- Preparation of samples, solutions and/or reagents, and bottle preparation.
- Perform simple analyses or instrument utilization to provide data that will not be directly reported to a client.
- Perform sample custodial duties including sample inventory upon receipt, sample storage, and sample
- Assist with answering phone calls from clients
- Participates in the management of hazardous waste in a safe and responsible manner
- Assists chemists and other technicians as needed
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment
- Works and communicates with personnel of own and other departments to develop a team approach
- Continually aware of and meets holding time/commitments required by external and internal clients
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned, including, but not limited to, clerical duties to support the team
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Chemistry or Biology credits preferred
- 1+ years’ experience working with laboratory instruments is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional attentiveness to detail, with ability to learn and understand technical terms
- Detail oriented, Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively with high volumes
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to practice discretion and good judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Must possess good organizational, communication, and time management
