Laboratory Technician

Newcomer Supply is a family-owned medical supply company based in Middleton, WI we manufacture and distribute products for Histology and Anatomic Pathology laboratories throughout the country. We are a growing company looking to hire a full time Laboratory Technician to be a part of a dedicated team of talented, detail oriented, achievers. Great opportunity for both experienced and recent graduates with laboratory experience.
We are a fun and hard-working team. This position is responsible for accurately preparing and staining control slides in a production environment, grossing and preparing tissue for processing, embedding, coverslipping and other responsibilities.

Job Type:

• Full Time – Hourly, Monday thru Friday, standard working hours

Technical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cutting quality tissue sections with proper thickness as determined by tissue type and places properly on glass slides.
• Grossing tissues properly and preparing tissue for the processor.
• Embedding tissue in paraffin blocks.
• Performing special staining.
• Performing coverslipping.
• Maintaining document and slide organization.

Education and Qualifications:

• Strong organization skill and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well with others in a shared laboratory environment.
• Associates degree from an accredited college or university preferred but not required.
• In lieu of degree, one year laboratory experience is preferred.
